"The 'TEACH PEACE' Project" Beginnings

Around the world, I have been fortunate to chat with a number of really good people. Ideas and philosophies are not so diverse, and the concept of peace is on most peoples mind. Peace is not an inheirent quality, but has to be learned as a product of our societies and civilizations. To that end I try to promote the idea of TEACHING PEACE to all I come in contact with.

I generally sign my emails with my phrase: "Be GOOD; Stay SMART; Teach PEACE!"; which has become my motto and shared philosophy of late. I am honored to see and hear it being passed back and forth through the internet as my international friends share it with others. I am proud to see them embrace it as part of their own lives and hope to see the ripples of its effect travel wide and far across the earth. Thanks to all my friends who have passed the concepts of 'The Teach Peace Project' to others that they know.

Here is a map that shows some of the locations, within my international community circle of friends, of whom I have come to know and enjoy their company.

If you believe in "TEACH PEACE", please leave a pin on the map below.
Don't forget to add your photo too. We need more photos! : )

There are some Americans who are very arrogant and egotistical when it comes to languages. They typically believe that the rest of the world should learn english and that they need not be bothered with any other language. But I do not believe that. I love languages of all kinds. I am happy to learn and I find it is a wonderful challenge to absorb as much of the languages of my friends and chat buddies as I can.

It gets difficult sometimes, because I have friends in many parts of the world, all who speak a different language as their primary language. But I try, to learn as best as I can. To that end however, I am simultaneously trying to learn some French, Turkish, German, Hebrew, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, and even American Sign Language so that I can be as fluent as I can be (at least in terms of the most basic general phrases) in my endeavor to promote the philosophy of TEACH PEACE to everyone I can around the world. I admit I only know a very little of each of those languages, but I find that my efforts are rewarded by the quality of friends that I have come to know.

Most of our conversations are in english or I am constantly using available translators and language programs to send occasional snippets of thought back to my friends in the language of their home country. Granted, I would probably learn faster if I only learned 1 language, but then I would only be able to share the TEACH PEACE idea with only 1 country. And it is far too important a concept NOT to share with everyone. So, I learn as much as I can in all the languages and hope that I can be more effective in my goal of doing what I can as an individual to promote the better good for all of humanity.

The map of my friends above is still short of my goal... I have yet to meet and know people from Asia, and Australia, Africa and India... and as with my other friends I will continue to try to learn at least the basic phrases and sentences from any new country I become aquainted with.
